Cunningham was appointed by South Dublin County Council to deliver a new social housing development in Balgaddy, Lucan, comprising 99 residential units and a modern community centre.
Located off Balgaddy Road between Foxborough Lawn and Tor an Rí Walk, the development includes two-storey houses, duplexes, and triplexes built with masonry, featuring timber or precast floors with integrated soundproofing.
The project prioritises sustainability, with all homes equipped with air source heat pumps. Landscaped areas, a play park, and a large green space over an attenuation tank enhance the estate’s livability and sense of community. Key infrastructure includes footpaths, roads, home zones, EV charging points, and service diversions.
A standout feature is the community centre, offering:
- Four offices
- A café with commercial kitchen
- Reception with intercom & PA system
- A 140-capacity multi-purpose hall
- A flexible room with sliding partition
- A crèche with outdoor play area
This development delivers essential, energy-efficient housing and quality amenities, representing a significant investment in the Lucan area.
