Cunningham is proud to announce that they have successfully raised €50,000 for the Southern Area Hospice Services through a combination of efforts, including a team of five employees who participated in the 2024 New York City Marathon. This monumental achievement was complemented by street collections, an employee summer BBQ, and generous local business sponsorships.
The team of runners, consisting of Tim Cunningham, Joanne Cunningham, Jonny Compston, Caolan Rowntree, and Ronan McAuley, took on the iconic NYC Marathon, each demonstrating exceptional determination and commitment to the fundraiser. The marathon, known for its challenging course and massive global following, provided the perfect platform for Cunningham to raise significant funds for the Southern Area Hospice Services.
Main sponsors for the fundraiser included Around Noon, Murdock Builders Merchants, and Killowen Contracts, whose generous support played a key role in ensuring the success of the fundraising campaign. Additionally, McEvoys of Newry sponsored the branding on the team’s marathon tops, making sure the team was easily recognisable as they ran for such an important cause.
The funds raised will help Southern Area Hospice Services continue their essential work, providing palliative care to patients and supporting families throughout the region.
Running the NYC Marathon was a huge challenge for our team, but it was also incredibly rewarding to know we were supporting a cause so close to our hearts. We are incredibly grateful for the support from our sponsors, donors, and, of course, our dedicated team members who took on this immense challenge. The €50,000 raised will make a real difference in providing vital care and support to those in need in our community.
Tim Cunningham
CEO, Cunningham
We are absolutely delighted that the Cunningham team took on this challenge for our Hospice, raising such a significant amount of funds for Hospice Care. These funds will go a long way to help local patients and their families over the Christmas period. We truly appreciate all their support, and it was a pleasure working alongside them. We know that running a marathon is no easy challenge but the team of 5 runners did amazing. We wish to thank Tim, Joanne and the entire Cunningham team, and to extend those thanks to all who supported their fundraising efforts in any way!
