Cunningham were appointed by HSE Northeast to deliver the refurbishment of an existing patient accommodation block at St Joseph’s Hospital in Trim, County Meath.
The scope of works centred on upgrades of the existing facility to provide a modern, purpose-built, HIQA compliant extension to the original hospital wing dating from the 1960s. The new facility comprises 12 single bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

The new facility provided accommodation for up to 21 patients, providing high quality, domestic areas in both long-term and acute critical care, within an existing live healthcare setting. The facility comprises a mix of natural, Positive pressure ventilation lobbies and Negative Pressure rooms fitted with HEPA supply, providing protection for immunocompromised patients. The units were fitted with double leaf sealed doors & appropriate access controls.
